New construction of a continuous casting plant
The logo of Georgsmarienhütte GmbH located on the new continuous casting plant in Bous/Saarland can be seen for miles around. The total construction project comprises of the actual continuous casting plant, the associated water management, the energy management as well as the segment and dolomite workshop. The existing works structure was meaningfully improved and supplemented via the expansion of the production facility.
The production process begins with the ladle transport from the steel production. The ladle containing the liquid material is routed through the manufactured process within the continuous casting plant via Strand 1 or 2. The glowing strand is formed and cut. The product handover takes place at the future downstream walking-beam furnace complete with rolling mill or is sent directly for dispatch. pbr AG was active in a planning role for the creation of the construction planning and accompaniment during the implementation phase.
